Why research team flow?

So by doing research on team flow you make participants aware of flow and team flow. These are also very relevant concepts for people the they also find very important to experience during their work.

So how do we do that?

We have scientifically developed various methodologies and instruments to encourage team flow in an appreciative manner within teams and organizations. We can do this for example by using interviews , psychological questionnaires, physiological measuring instruments, focus groups, design thinking, observations, case studies in team development projects.

What it delivers

Flow is a state we experience when we are fully absorbed in an activity, accompanied by a motivated and energetic focus. In a moment of team flow, we experience this together while performing mutually dependent tasks for the team’s sake. We then perform better, experience more satisfaction and happiness, and are truly meaningful for what the team was created for. So a very big win-win for both employee and employer to get a grip on this!

Want to learn more about team flow?

We create content about team flow in the form of blogs, videos and scientific publications. Below is a selection:

In August 2019, Jef van den Hout and his research colleagues Josette Gevers, Orin Davis, and Mathieu Weggeman published the article "Developing and Testing the Team Flow Monitor. In doing so, they validated the Team Flow Monitor as an instrument to measure team flow and additionally tested whether team flow potentially leads to both individual and team outcomes. An interesting finding within this research is that the conditions for team flow together lead to better team performance, and the experience of the team flow moment leads to greater individual happiness.
