Tommie Perenboom was part of the team that year and now, after four years, looks back on what it brought him. From his experience, we learn how important psychological safety is in preventing burnout. Flow Concepts was approached last year to act as team flow coach for the members of Solar Team Eindhoven. It is very nice to see how they strive to maintain a team flow climate, and we are very curious how the elements from the Team Flow Model are reflected here. Therefore, we asked two team members to share their experience with us.
Why is flow so important for teams?
The reason we started exploring team flow was, of course, prompted by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi who introduced the concept of flow in 1975. In this blog, we will explain the concept of flow and introduce some of the reasons why experiencing flow is so important when working together in a team.

The Flow of ReaZun
Flow Concepts likes to test its theories on team flow in practice. In 2011, we held an interview with rapper ReaZun of Kyteman’s Hiphop Orchestra. This band had tremendous success in 2011. All concerts were sold out. They were at all the major festivals in the Netherlands. Newspapers described the band as a bouncing gang of optimal mutual chemistry. Reason enough to find out what was happening in this group.
