How to use the Graffiti Flow Jam to bring your team’s collective ambition to life!

This is the unique opportunity to share the team's collective ambition in an inspiring way. The artwork on the wall thus keeps the collective ambition alive and probably ensures it will be achieved! And then it's time for a new work of art!

Take a moment to think about the team you are part of. What makes you motivated to work together? At the Graffiti Flow Jam, you as a team will visualize this collective ambition. This under the guidance of a professional graffiti artist with the added bonus that you will probably also experience flow while painting! Afterwards you can hang the result on the wall in your own team environment. When customers or colleagues see the graffiti painting on the wall, they will wonder how it was created. 🙂

Flow and team flow

Flow is an optimal experience. During flow experiences, you feel good and perform well. You become completely absorbed in the execution of the task with an energetic focus, and afterwards you enjoy the moment enormously. In a flow experience, the task or role performance is worth doing in itself. You also feel as if it’s happening by itself. Great work!

Team flow is a shared flow experience that arises from team dynamics. You could also call it the experience of optimal cooperation. All team members then experience flow together while being interconnected in a team activity. For evoking team flow, there are a number of conditions that we will actively promote during this workshop so that the participating team is likely to actually experience team flow! You can read more about the conditions of team flow here.

The collective ambition

Flow Concepts aims to connect people on intrinsic motivations to help them achieve their collective ambitions. We build on the team flow theory that indicates that the 11 elements of team flow together lead to better team performance, greater job satisfaction, more fulfillment, more happiness and more creativity. Collective ambition is where it all begins. Collective ambition is a shared intrinsic motivation to form a team together and take on a common task. This can be something enjoyable like a game of soccer or something important like providing good care to an indigent patient. A collective ambition is formed by:

  • The raison d’être for working together from the intrinsic motivations of individual team members;
  • The values and beliefs about how you want to work together;
  • The (re)recognition of each other’s complementary qualities.

Collective ambition can thus be seen as the “beating heart” of a team or organization. It is often the starting point of your team formation and the underlying reason everyone feels connected. It fuels the energy of team members to open up to new and challenging team goals. These important conditions are part of the Graffiti Flow Jam, creating the team’s collective ambition in a fun and visual way.

What does this workshop look like step by step?

  • Warm welcome
  • Practicing with the spray can
  • Interactive and inspiring explanation of flow, team flow and collective ambition
  • Creative brain- and handstorm about one’s own collective ambition
  • Symbolizing one’s own collective ambition in single images with the spray can
  • Bringing together one’s own collective ambition as a mural
  • Concluding with a look to the future!

Thus, step by step, the program creates a unique, fun and inspiring experience with positive energy towards the future. During the workshop, participants will notice that experiencing flow leads to creative ideas, a positive vibe and a big smile! By visualizing the collective ambition together, team members will feel more connected and motivated to work on team goals afterwards. The final product, the graffiti painting, is therefore an endorser of both the identity and motivation of the team!
