LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method is a communicative and problem-solving process in which participants are presented with different issues that are explored in increasing depth. Using Lego building blocks, each participant builds his or her own answer to the issue related to achieving team flow. On this basis, information is shared with each other, problem-solving discussions are held, and decisions are made.

What does this tool entail?

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method is a facilitative approach that uses LEGO® bricks to help teams explore and improve the conditions for team flow. It is a structured process that combines individual reflection and collective stories by building 3D models in response to targeted questions about team flow.

What does it do?

This method creates a safe space for teams to have in-depth conversations about their collaborative dynamics and the factors that contribute to or hinder team flow. It encourages active participation, creative thinking and sharing of insights through visual metaphors built with LEGO® bricks. An experienced facilitator guides the process, asks questions, facilitates dialogue and helps translate insights into actions.

What does it provide?

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method leads to a deeper understanding of the conditions for team flow within the team, improves communication and cooperation, increases awareness of individual roles and responsibilities, and results in concrete actions and decisions to promote team flow. This increases engagement and motivation of team members, leading to a more effective and harmonious work environment.

It is easier to enhance creativity by changing conditions in the environment than by trying to make people think more creatively.”
